Premonition ~ a feeling that something is about to happen. Anticipation of an event without conscious reason : presentiment.
A strong feeling that something is about to happen.
A positive premonition might feel like a sudden sense of peace or a sudden understanding that everything will work out well.
Unlike a precognition, a premonition is predominantly a strong feeling or sense that the individual has about something. In this sense, it cannot be associated with an event.
Whereas precognition refers to a vision that an individual has during an awakened state.
Another key difference is that in a premonition the person only has a feeling.
Premonitions are common in waking hours. This is because the person experiences a higher sense of emotion.
